PCFixshop have been repairing PC's almost since their inception in 1990 they have many years of hands on experience and can very quickly identify and fix the problem permanently. Like most industries IT is laden with so called experts who will bodge, charge and then scarper. If the repair is a time consuming one, or requires specialist replacement parts (most common parts are carried to onsite jobs), a bench fix will be offered at no extra charge. The computer will be taken back to PCFixShop head office where technician will repair the computer. As required in most cases the computer will then be fully upgraded all www.windowsupdates.com will be applied plus all driver updates for Motherboard, Sound & Video-card components will be applied. Common application updates for MS Office, Nero, Adobe, ITunes etc will also be applied. If necessary anti-virus tools will be added together with necessary anti-spy and firewall solutions - (all the above extras can amount to over 500MB of updates) The disk will then be cleared of clutter (No User data will be lost) and then defragmented for extra performance - This extra service is 100% FREE - Your computer when returned, normally within 24 hours, will be 100% up to date and we guarantee will perform noticeably faster than previously - This is a totally unique service offered only by PCFixShop.

2. Do You Use New Parts?

PC Fix Shop only use UK/EU Branded Parts - Never grey imports. We Do Not use seconds or second hand parts at all ever? It would tarnish our reputation for solid reliability.

3. Do You Build Computer Systems?

5. Do You Supply Network Equipment?

7. Do You Charge extra for Telephone Support?

No Telephone calls are charged at local rates - No Extra is paid for any support queries you may have.

8. Will You Come To My Home or Office?

PC Fix Shop are happy to come onsite - Other companies claim that they can fix your computer remotely - How can they if your computer will not boot or you network/internet is down!

9. Will You come to my home in the Evening?

PCFixShop are happy to work until the job is done if that is nine o'clock in the evening then we are happy to oblige NOTE: additional charges may be applied for out of hours cover.

11. Can You Fix My Virus Problem Without Me Losing My Data?

Absolutely - The vast majority of our fixes never require a restore - Our Superior combination of AntiVirus and Anti Spy tools can smash even the most comprehensive of virus/spy/mal infections, without resorting to complete system restore options. If you are told by another company the only fix is a complete restore. Give us a call FREE note however it is always your responsibility to backup your data.

12. What Software Tools Do You Use?

PcFix use USB Key boot combinations of Kaspersky/Panda/AVG/Microsoft anti Virus plus Malwarebytes and Superantispyware plus highly specialist tools to remove all types of computer infection onsite.

13. Do You give a Guarantee?

Of Course all our new builds have a 12 month on site no quibble guarantee plus a further two years return to base guarantee We will collect FREE - All hardware repair parts fixes are guaranteed for 12 months. see our guarantee warranty terms here Software repairs are guaranteed for three months.

14. Can You install/Repair all my New equipment including Printers and my Network?

Absolutely PC Fix will do all your set up to save you the time and effort we install all makes of personal computer printer/scanner and all Brands of Wired and Wireless networks.

15. Are Your Wireless Networks Secure?

Of Course all networks are covered by a minimum of 256bit WPA protection businesses use stronger PSK2 protection we do all the setup - Your system simply works.

16. Will I be Able to Contact You Later If I Have Problems?

17. What is Windows Vista & Windows 7?

Windows 7 is the latest Operating system from Microsoft it replaced Windows Vista in November 2010 Vista was released 30th January 2007 and Replaced Windows XP see our Microsoft Windows Vista information page here

18. Why has my AVG Anti Virus expired?

The older versions (6 - 10) of AVG Anti Virus were replaced with a new version 11 in September 2011 (now called AVG 2012)it can be downloaded for FREE from here after downloading the free file for Windows (approx 80MB) run the .exe file you downloaded and when prompted select the 'Repair' option after the computer is restarted the Anti Virus can be updated in the usual fashion - The free licence should last at least a further year.

19. What Operating Systems do you support?

PCFixShop will Happily support all Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows 3.11, 95,98,ME,XP,Vista & 7 as well as Windows NT4 Windows2000 Server and all other Microsoft variants. We are currently Beta Testing Windows 8 and are happy to assist other early beta adopters.

20. My PC is really ancient, is it worth bringing in?

Sometimes, the value of the repairs may exceed the market value of your old PC. We will not charge at all to look at a computer that is technically beyond economic repair, if you bring it to us, if you choose to repair it of course we can do it. contact us for sound impartial advice.

21. My PC won't start. I don't have any backups, have I lost my data?

In most cases, we can retrieve all of your precious data and write it to new disk or PC if necessary

22. What happens if you can't fix it - No Fix No Fee Right?

All computers can be repaired, at a cost but sometimes they are well beyond economic repair, we will inform you that this is the case, and no charge will be made if you purchase a replacement unit or replacement parts from us. Remember PCFixShop sell pre-built computer units from as little as £299.00 inclusive. If we diagnose a failed part(s) and the customer decides not to go ahead with the repair, have the replacement part(s) fitted or purchase a replacement PC system from us. We will charge the customer for one full hour time spent. (normally £40 but may be higher for an out of area or out of hours fix) This is fully refundable if a system or replacement parts are purchased later, within a reasonable time-frame, up-to 12 weeks after the initial consultation. This may incur additional fees if customer sources their own replacement parts and we are asked to fit. No fee will apply if we do not have an appropriate replacement unit available or no replacement parts can be sourced from our suppliers.
